7 Minutes is a short film written and directed by the incredibly talented Louise Wallace, and I was truly honored when she asked me to produce this graduation project for her. From the moment I read the script, I was drawn to the story and I knew it deserved to be brought to life on screen.
The film was set and shot in Dover, Kent, which is Louise’s hometown and a place I had never visited before. Not only was it exciting to explore a new part of England, but it was also a refreshing creative challenge to work in an unfamiliar environment. Being on location in Dover gave me the chance to connect with local film offices, particularly the Kent Film Office, and also gain a better understanding of how they operate. I was so delighted that all of our desired locations were approved and made possible to film at.

One of the most valuable aspects of this project was the opportunity to learn more about child licensing in the UK. Working with young actors came with an added layer of responsibility, and I learned how to create a positive, professional, and safe environment for them on set. It was incredibly rewarding to manage this part of the production and ensure the children felt comfortable and welcomed throughout the process. It felt like a real accomplishment to know they enjoyed the experience and felt part of the team.
Producing “7 Minutes” allowed me to grow both creatively and professionally. I’m proud to have been part of a project that challenged me in new ways, and I’m grateful for the trust Louise placed in me to help bring her vision to life.
